Dark or light, one site at a time.

Shadeflip is a tiny browser extension. Click it, and the site you're on switches from light to dark, or back again. Shadeflip remembers your choice for that site and leaves every other site alone.

How it works

• Click the Shadeflip button in your toolbar, or press Alt+Shift+D.
• Shadeflip remembers the choice for that site. Every other site stays as it was.
• It checks a page before changing it. If you asked for dark and the site is already dark, Shadeflip does nothing.
• Want dark almost everywhere? Make it the default in settings, then switch back the few sites that look better light.

Works in Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers.

Why Shadeflip

Most dark-mode extensions switch every site at once and ask for donations. Shadeflip changes only the sites you pick, weighs about 17 KB and never asks for anything.

It darkens a page by inverting its colors, then turns photos and video back to normal. That's fast and works on almost any site, though some colors can shift.
